Galilee Missionary Baptist Church

Our History
The Galilee Missionary Baptist Church of San Francisco, CA was organized by the late Reverend S.W. Jackson in 1947, a year after the end of World War II, as many African Americans families decided not to return to the south after working “war time jobs in the Bay Area,” but to relocate in California.

The Church was originally named Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church #2, but errors made by mail carriers with the former Shiloh congregation -- forged the need for changing to the current name Galilee.
