There is a beauty about this planet that is unquestionably -- God’s handiwork, and it is evident that man is a participant in this ensemble. Everything I see in our infinite universe from the miraculous birth our children to nebulae in the next galaxy of stars (via Hubble telescope) proclaims the unquestionable beauty of what awaits us in eternity. It is evident to me that there is beauty in the fact that the sun gives light and life to everything on this planet. On occasion, we all stop momentarily “...and soak it all in and it’s amazing.” Even more amazing is the symbolism, that the Son of God gives light and life.
In April 2007, a whale swimming free in the Atlantic ocean strayed off course and beached itself in New York harbor near Brooklyn water way and died. Whales, by nature, are known for swimming in straight lines in small groups when in the free ocean. For some reason, this whale had pointed himself in the direction of the most polluted harbor in the world. Upon arrival, observers say he swam around confused for 2-days before beaching himself. On scene rescuers could not save him. Those caring souls that had attempted to point the whale out of the harbor to sea -- watched this beautiful creature of nature lose its way, its will and its want. The experts say the whale could have been saved if it had remained with the group it was traveling with.
The way to eternity is a journey. Eternity is a gathering of worshippers according to the Bible. In my early Christian life, I had an image in my mind that eternity was like unto a retirement, or vacation a person takes after they die. Unfortunately, that’s was not entirely accurate. There are no people in eternity who stay home, relax and claim to worship God. It’s a gathering of saints, who have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb Jesus. Those headed for eternity have committed their way, will and want toward worshipping God on this planet.
As we are all free swimmers basking in the ocean of God’s love, we make choices in this life about where we plan to spend eternity. Is your way, will and want to worship God throughout eternity? If not, you (perhaps) should never ever waste your time in a church worship service. At this point, I say take care and be well...! For those, who have eternity in mind and everything else God has prepared for them that love Him, I strongly recommend you be in church worshipping next Sunday. Next Sunday is the beginning of your eternity with Christ. Those, who love Christ, are worshippers of God, and worship Him in spirit and truth.
